"You have always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience." Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
“You have always to do what is right. It will become easier by practice, and you enjoy in the midst of your trials the pleasure of an approving conscience.”
-Robert E. Lee
What this statement is saying is that if you always choose the right thing, then it would be easier do practice and do it every day. You will get used to doing the right thing that when you make a decision, you won’t have to think about what to do’ choosing the right will automatically come out. Also doing the right won’t cause you to have a guilty conscience, as a matter of fact; those who choose the right will have a great pleasure in doing the right thing. For example, if people offer you drugs and you decline they might call you bad names. You just need to ignore them because it doesn’t have to matter to you. You have made the right decision to decline it and walk away. You won’t have to deal with having a guilty conscience.

"In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing." Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing.”
-Theodore Roosevelt
I agree with this statement because in life at any circumstance, the best thing to always do is to always choose the right, no matter what. Choosing the right will benefit you because you will have a happier, peaceful, and easier life. You won’t have to worry about whether or not you will get in trouble for doing something, which is why it is important to choose the right. An example would be if you are invited to a party on a weekend but you know you have too much work, you will need to make a decision about either going to the party or staying home and doing your work. The best decision to make should be to stay home and do your work.  If you slack off, you won’t finish your work, but if you focus and finish it on time, you will have more liberty to have free time.

"Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices." Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
“Nobody ever did, or ever will, escape the consequences of his choices.”
-Albert A. Montapert
This statement means that anything you do in life, consequences will always happen. Depending on the choices you make, the consequences you will receive. For example if you decide to make the correct choice in studying for a test, then you will receive a good consequence, or reward. The good reward or consequence will be that most likely you will pass the test. Another example of making decisions is when you choose to do the wrong choices. For example if you don’t study for a test, the bad consequences will be that most likely you won’t pass the test. Whether you choose the right or choose the wrong decisions, there will always be consequences as your result.

7 Habits of Highly Successful Teens

7 habits of Highly Successful Teens
By Sean Covey
For teens, life in not a playground, it’s a jungle. And, being the parent of a teenager isn’t any walk in the park, either. In his book, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens, author Sean Covey attempts to provide “a compass to help teens and their parents navigate the problems they encounter daily.”
How will they deal with peer pressure? Motivation? Success or lack thereof? The life of a teenager is full of tough issues and life-changing decisions. As a parent, you are responsible to help them learn the principles and ethics that will help them to reach their goals and live a successful life.
While it’s all well and good to tell kids how to live their lives, “teens watch what you do more than they listen to what you say,” Covey says. So practice what you preach. Your example can be very influential.
Covey himself has done well by following a parent’s example. His dad, Stephen Covey, wrote the book The 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, which sold over 15 million copies. Sean’s a chip off the old block, and no slacker. His own book has rung in a more than respectable 2 million copies sold. Here are his seven habits, and some ideas for helping your teen understand and apply them.
CHOOSE THE RIGHT!!!
