"Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence...." Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
“Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determinations alone are omnipotent. The slogan ‘Press On’ has solved and always will solve the problem of the human race.”
-Calvin Coolidge, 30th president of the United States

What this statement means is that what leads someone to success is not having the greatest talent but having determination and being persistent in accomplishing something that you want. Achieving what you have dreamed of is the result of your own determination. Without your determination, you won’t have the courage and you won’t be persistent in accomplishing your dream goals. Not every one that is intelligent accomplishes what they want; the intellect doesn’t determine your accomplishments but your dedication and persistence.
