:A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder." Student Success Statement

Student Success Statement
“A man without a goal is like a ship without a rudder.”
-Thomas Carlyle
This statement means that that if you don’t have something that pushes and helps you to go somewhere, then you won’t go anywhere. Having a goal is as important as a ship having a rudder. When having a goal, you know what the things you are required to do in order to get there. The ships needs a rudder in order to move and go where it needs to go. An example would be if you want to become a doctor, you need to know all the things that are required for you to do in order to get there.
